Barcelona inquires about Girasi as salary impacts transfer decision

Barcelona has inquired about the possibility of signing Serhou Guirassy, the Borussia Dortmund striker, as part of their search for a new forward. However, the player's high salary has led to the exclusion of the idea of completing the transfer.

According to German newspaper "Bild", Barcelona's management recently inquired about the 30-year-old Guinea striker, who has been linked with the Catalan club in the past. However, his annual salary of around €10 million is a barrier to the deal.

The newspaper indicated that Girasi's salary exceeds the wage structure adopted by Barcelona, while the release clause in his contract is around €50 million, which is only available to seven major clubs in Europe, including Barcelona.

Giraffe joined Borussia Dortmund in 2024 from Stuttgart, signing a contract with the German club until 2028. The striker had an impressive season, scoring 22 goals and providing 6 assists in 46 matches.

In another context, Bild reported that Borussia Dortmund is nearing a contract with Hector Fort, a player from Barcelona, after representatives from the German club arrived in Barcelona to expedite negotiations. Meanwhile, the Catalan club hopes to receive more than €10 million for their player.

Hans Flick prefers to keep Chavi Espart within Barcelona's ranks. A deal for Fort could have helped reduce the cost of signing Gerasi had the Catalan club decided to pursue him, but the striker's high salary has ended the possibility of completing the transfer.

According to Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo," sporting director Deco continues to search for a new striker as the transfer window deadline approaches.
