Arsenal Given Green Light to Sign Alvarez for €150 Million

According to The Athletic, a source close to Atletico Madrid's management believes that the Spanish club could agree to sell Alvarez if an offer of around €150 million comes in from Arsenal, after officials from the English club held talks with Atletico and the player's representatives last week.

Atletico Madrid is steadfast in its decision not to sell Alvarez to Barcelona, considering them a direct competitor in La Liga, despite the fact that the Catalan club was the Argentine striker's preferred destination for much of the summer transfer window.

However, Alvarez's position may have changed recently, as reported by The Guardian, indicating that he has begun to consider a move to Arsenal after facing jeers from Atletico Madrid fans during the 2-2 draw against Villarreal on Sunday.

Arsenal now needs to obtain Alvarez's approval before embarking on a deal of this magnitude, especially since the London club has the financial capability to complete it, while Barcelona may struggle to bear the cost.

From a technical standpoint, Alvarez represents a strong addition to Arsenal thanks to his ability to press, move, and finish attacks, along with the option to play as a forward or in a more withdrawn position.
