Arbil Secures Mustafa Walid Signing
Arbil has officially announced the signing of left-back Mustafa Walid from Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, in a deal that represents a significant reinforcement for the "Yellow Castle" defense.
The transfer came just days after Walid's stint with Al-Suqoor ended, during which he celebrated winning the league title last season alongside the blue team.
According to sources within Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, Tunisian coach Fathi Jebali was not convinced by Mustafa Walid's performance during the preparation period and recent matches, which led the coaching staff to exclude him from the primary options for the new season.
Faced with this reality, the player preferred to seek a new opportunity that guarantees him more playing minutes, and he chose Erbil, which has entered the transfer market strongly to strengthen all positions.
Moving to Erbil represents a different experience for the player, who is looking to rediscover himself and regain the level he showcased in previous seasons, while also benefiting from the new atmosphere in the Citadel of Erbil to return to representing national teams.
Mustafa Walid did not leave Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya quietly. The player addressed a farewell message to the club's fans and management through his social media accounts, stating: "Today the journey ends, but its beautiful details and memories will never fade, and your place will always remain in my heart."
The signing of Mustafa Walid is part of Erbil's management plan to build a competitive team this season. The club is striving to return to the top positions after years of fluctuation, and sees the addition of experienced players like Walid as a crucial step to raise their ambitions.
