Ammar Al-Zarqi explains the reason behind Al Minaa goalkeeper's issue with the fans
In the aftermath of the final whistle of the match between Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya and Al Minaa at the Al-Madina International Stadium in Baghdad, the atmosphere in the stadium turned into one of intense tension and hostility due to sharp skirmishes and a minor clash that occurred between the players of both teams, amidst widespread official and fan reactions.
Tension was evident after the match as Al Minaa goalkeeper Ammar Ali gestured towards his club's badge in front of the angry Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya fans, a move that the home supporters considered a direct provocation.
The situation escalated quickly when Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya midfielder Saad Abdulameer intervened to reprimand the goalkeeper, leading to a scuffle and verbal altercation between players from both teams, amid attempts from sensible individuals to contain the situation and prevent it from worsening.
Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya assistant coach Ammar Al-Zraiqi commented on the events that accompanied the end of the match, detailing what happened in the press conference.
Al Minaa's goalkeeper lost his temper and acted out in front of the crowd. As a star and a football player, you must always keep your nerves and respect the feelings of the fans. However, we can excuse the player as he is still young and has little experience on the field.
Al-Zarqi moved on to discuss the technical aspect of the match, affirming:
In the first half, we were in control and dictated the proceedings, and in the second half, our players missed a large number of clear chances to score without exploiting them optimally. Everyone is fully aware of the difficult circumstances that Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya is currently going through, and we have come prepared to work hard on reorganizing and reshuffling.
The assistant coach provided a reassuring message to the fans of Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya:
Regardless of the absent or present names, we are completely satisfied with the overall performance of the team, and in the upcoming matches, we will certainly show a better image. We have succeeded in isolating the players completely from administrative problems so that their technical level is not affected, as if nothing is happening behind the scenes, and our team will inevitably return to its usual level.
Al-Zarqi concluded his speech by saying:
All clubs and teams facing Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya give their utmost on the pitch against us, which requires a lot of patience, cooperation, and collective effort in the upcoming phase.
These live scenes reflect the pressures and charged emotions accompanying matches in the Iraq Stars League amid ongoing efforts from coaching staff to manage crises and focus on returning with positive results.
