Nottingham Forest has entered the fray to secure the signing of Chelsea striker Liam Delap, as uncertainty continues to surround the player's future with the London club during the current transfer window.

Sam Delap, 23, joined Chelsea last summer from Ipswich Town in a deal worth £30 million, but the forward has failed to deliver the expected level during his first season at Stamford Bridge.

Cole Delap scored only one goal in the Premier League last season, despite having the chance to start in 12 matches. He also faced physical issues that affected his appearances with the team.

The striker missed 14 matches last season due to a hamstring injury, alongside struggling with another injury to his shoulder.

Nottingham Forest is closely monitoring the player's situation, as coach Oliver Glasner aims to strengthen the team's offensive line. This could prompt the club to take action to secure the transfer.

According to reports, Delap prefers to continue playing in the Premier League, which could give Nottingham Forest the chance to sign him if Chelsea's management decides to allow his departure.

The financial compensation required for the transfer of the English striker is estimated at around £40 million, pending whether Nottingham Forest will submit an official bid in the coming period.
