Official: Al-Ittihad Loans Unai Hernández to Girona Until Season's End

Al Ittihad has approved the departure of their Spanish player Unai Hernandez, as he is set to join Girona on loan until the end of the current season, in search of new playing opportunities.

Hernandez joined Al-Ittihad in February 2025, arriving from Barcelona, and signed a contract with the Saudi club that extends for three seasons.

The Spanish player has made 10 appearances for Ittihad, scoring once and providing three assists.

Hernandez struggled for playing time last season, making only eight minutes of appearances, which came against Al Nassr in the Saudi Super Cup semi-final.

The player has since moved on loan to Al-Shabab during the second half of the season, where he will have a greater opportunity to participate and play more matches.

Hernandez has played 31 matches in the Al-Shabab jersey, but he has not managed to score any goals, only providing one assist during his time with the team.

The Spanish player is now returning to his homeland through Girona, on a new loan that gives him the chance to regain his form and secure more playing minutes during the current season.

Hernandez's transfer comes as part of the club's efforts to manage its roster, while the player seeks to leverage his new experience at Girona to prove his abilities and make a strong return to competition.
