Official: Al-Ittihad Loans Unai Hernández to Girona

Al Ittihad has officially announced its agreement to loan Spanish midfielder Unai Hernandez to Girona until the end of the current season, in a move that gives the player a fresh opportunity to return to Spanish football.

Hernandez joined Ittihad from Barcelona in January 2025, before embarking on a loan spell with Al Shabab last season, and has now returned to Ittihad at the start of the current season.

During his time with Ittihad, the Spanish player participated in 10 matches, scoring one goal and providing three assists. However, his recent appearances have been limited, which has opened the door for a potential loan move.

Hernandez is familiar with Girona, having progressed through the club's youth ranks before moving to Barcelona in 2022. He now returns to his former team in search of more playing minutes and to regain his form.

Thus, the federation temporarily closes the file on Hernandez's future by loaning him to Girona, with the player set to return to the Saudi club after the season ends, unless another agreement is reached regarding his future.
