Liverpool Eye Malo Gusto Amid Chelsea Exit Rumors
Liverpool has shown interest in signing French full-back Malo Gusto from Chelsea, amid the possibility of his departure from Stamford Bridge during the remaining period of the summer transfer window.
Malo Gusto, 23, has been performing well at Chelsea, but the presence of Reece James and Marc Cucurella among the team's right-back options could lead the club to consider his departure, especially with interest from several clubs.
Journalist Simon Phillips has reported that Chelsea may lower their financial demands for the sale of Malo Gusto, having previously set his price at £75 million. Liverpool is among the clubs interested in the player, alongside Tottenham, Bayern Munich, and Juventus.
Manchester City is still interested in signing Joško Gvardiol, having previously been linked with a move for him. However, Chelsea's high financial demands represent a hurdle to completing the deal, although the club may reconsider some of its requests.
Philips pointed out that Joao has wanted to leave Chelsea for four months, and he has a good relationship with his former coach Enzo Maresca, the current manager of Manchester City. However, the club's interest in signing Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea may complicate the completion of both deals.
Liverpool's interest in signing Joško Gvardiol comes amid the team's need to strengthen the right-back position, following Trent Alexander-Arnold's departure and Jeremy Frimpong's struggle to fully adapt so far. Gvardiol has experience in the Premier League, but Chelsea may prefer to avoid selling to a rival in England, especially with interest from clubs abroad.
