Paris Saint-Germain is preparing to face Aston Villa this evening, Wednesday, in the UEFA Super Cup, amid anticipation of how the match will be decided if it ends in a draw after regular time.

According to "Foot Mercato", there will be no extra time if the match ends in a draw after 90 minutes, as both teams will head directly to penalties to determine the winner of the title.

This rule is being applied for the second consecutive season, after last year's UEFA Super Cup saw a direct move to penalties following a draw, with Paris Saint-Germain crowned champions against Tottenham.

Paris Saint-Germain managed to equalize in the final minutes of the last match, before securing the victory through penalties.

UEFA regulations stipulate that no extra time will be played if the match remains tied at the end of regular time, a system that will also be applied in this year's clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Aston Villa.

Thus, if the draw remains between the two teams after 90 minutes in the city of Salzburg, the UEFA Super Cup champion will be determined directly through penalties.
