Enrique: Aston Villa Clash Will Be Tough, We Must Prove Our Winning Ability
Spanish coach Luis Enrique has confirmed the difficulty of facing English side Aston Villa, scheduled for Wednesday evening in the UEFA Super Cup, stressing his team's desire to secure victory and start the season with a new title.
Luis Enrique stated: "I rested almost all summer, and now we are in top shape and happy to be back. We are gradually bringing players back and starting the season with a final match, which means we performed well last season, and we will strive to deliver an outstanding performance."
He added: "We set very ambitious goals from the beginning and we will continue in this way. The circumstances are different now and everyone believes we are still capable of winning, but that is just theoretical talk. We need to prove on the pitch that we are up to the challenge. We aspire to win again, but it's not easy."
Paris Saint-Germain's coach stated: "Some players returned only last Monday, while others came back last week. We are trying to prepare in the best possible way. I don't know the level of my players tomorrow after their rest at home, and we will try to win in a strong match we will play on Wednesday."
Luis Enrique added: "I am lucky to have players who are always enthusiastic and do not need extra motivation; they always strive to be better. I am very fortunate to have such players."
Regarding his stance on Ferran Torres, the Paris Saint-Germain manager simply stated: "Ferran Torres? I don't talk about the transfer market, but about the current Paris Saint-Germain players."
