Luis Skelly refuses to leave and insists on staying with Arsenal

Myles Lewis-Skelly has confirmed his intention to stay at Arsenal and continue working to secure his place in manager Mikel Arteta's plans for the upcoming season.

The 19-year-old English player has attracted interest from several clubs thanks to his performances, but Lewis-Skelly is not thinking about leaving, as he feels comfortable at his childhood club and is focused on competing for a regular starting spot with the first team.

An Arsenal academy player has signed a long-term contract with the club in the summer of 2025, continuing his journey that began with the team when he was just eight years old.

Luis-Skilly is regularly participating in Arsenal's preparations for the new season, while the club's management is currently not considering offers to sell the England international, although the team may see several players depart before the transfer window closes.

Arsenal are expected to show some flexibility in their squad plans, but Luis-Skeli's position seems clear, as does the club's desire to retain his services.

Luis-Skili began his journey with the first team during the 2024-2025 season, having appeared as a left-back, before moving to his preferred position in midfield last season and securing a starting spot.

His brilliance in the closing stages of the season has given him an extra boost, having been given the chance to start in the UEFA Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain, a moment that reflected the extent of the development achieved by the young player.

Luis-Skilly, born in London, has six international caps with the England national team, but he was not part of coach Thomas Tuchel's squad participating in this summer's World Cup.

At Arsenal, the player has played 75 matches for the first team so far, continuing to build his career at the club where he grew up, with a clear desire to continue developing and compete for a bigger role next season.
