Official: Paris Saint-Germain Signs Lucas Digne

Paris Saint-Germain has officially announced the return of French defender Lucas Digne to the squad, coming back after many years of experience in European and English football. Digne has signed a contract that extends until 2029 and will wear the number 12 shirt.

The 33-year-old began his professional career with Lille before moving to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2013. During two seasons with the Parisian club, he played 44 matches and provided 5 assists, winning the Ligue 1 title twice, along with the Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue twice, and three titles in the Trophée des Champions.

In the 2015-2016 season, Digne moved to Roma on loan, where he made 42 appearances, scoring 3 goals and providing 4 assists, before attracting the attention of Barcelona and joining the Catalan club. At Barcelona, the French defender played 46 matches, netting 2 goals and assisting 3 times, while also adding to his trophy cabinet with two La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey trophies, and one Supercopa de España.

After his stint in Spain, Digne moved to Everton, where he became one of the standout left-backs in the Premier League, playing 127 matches for the club, scoring 6 goals and providing 20 assists. In January 2022, he embarked on a new chapter with Aston Villa, where he emerged as one of the team's leaders, participating in 182 matches, scoring 4 goals and assisting 24 times. He also played a crucial role in the club's triumph in the Europa League in 2026.

On the international stage, Dine has 64 appearances for the French national team, having previously won the Under-20 World Cup and the UEFA Nations League in 2021. He participated in the 2014 and 2026 World Cups, starting six matches during the 2026 tournament, helping his country reach the semi-finals.

Din is known for the strength of his left foot, precision in crosses, and consistency at the highest level. He has played 503 matches for clubs, scoring 18 goals and providing 59 assists, along with 57 appearances in European competitions.
