Araujo's Travel Date to England Ahead of Liverpool Move

Ronald Araujo begins a new phase in his career today, Sunday, as he travels to England to finalize the details of his loan transfer to Liverpool for the 2026/2027 season, amid the English club's need to strengthen its defense due to absences and injuries.

According to "Mundo Deportivo," all parties have reached an agreement for the 27-year-old Uruguayan defender to move to Liverpool, with an option to buy for the English club valued at €55 million.

Araujo's decision to leave comes after he felt he might not receive the role he was hoping for at Barcelona, given his status and experience, leading him to opt for a new challenge that could help him regain his best form.

Hans Flick, Barcelona's coach, confirmed after the friendly triangle in Udine that Araujo realized his need for something new, praising him and describing him as a wonderful person and a great player. The defender missed Barcelona's trip to Italy, where the team won against Nottingham Forest 1-0 and lost to Udinese 1-0.

Before leaving, Araujo gathered his belongings from the Joan Gamper Sports City and made sure to greet the fans who wished him well during his loan period at Liverpool, before heading to England to finalize his transfer.

Before the official announcement of the deal, Araujo must undergo the usual procedures, including a medical examination. Liverpool is expecting his arrival soon, as the team is struggling with a shortage in central defense and right-back positions, with Virgil van Dijk being the only available center-back in the short term.
