Manchester United continues its efforts in the summer transfer market to complete its squad reinforcements ahead of the new season, after the team, led by coach Michael Carrick, secured a spot in the Champions League due to the positive results achieved during the second half of last season.

Manchester United's management has concentrated on bolstering their midfield during the current transfer window, having secured the signings of Brazilian Andre Santos and Belgian Youri Tielemans. However, the club is still on the lookout for another addition in this position, placing Roma's French player Manu Kone among their priorities.

Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford's future with Manchester United remains uncertain, as he has returned to the team following the end of his loan period. This comes after Barcelona decided not to activate the option to buy his contract permanently, despite the performances he delivered during his time in La Liga.

Barcelona has opted to sign English winger Anthony Gordon, bringing Marcus Rashford's situation back into focus at Old Trafford, as the club seeks to resolve his future before the transfer window closes.

Manchester United's management is seeking to rid itself of the high salary being paid to the player, which amounts to £325,000 per week, one of the highest within the team. However, the club has yet to receive an offer that meets its financial demands.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, citing the Daily Mirror, Manchester United is exploring the possibility of including Rashford in a swap deal with Roma, aimed at facilitating the signing of French midfielder Manu Kone.

The report indicated that the Italian club is open to selling Kone as part of its efforts to generate financial liquidity and comply with financial fair play regulations. However, they have set a price of £51 million for the player's services, which has led both parties to discuss the option of a swap deal.

A source revealed that Roma is looking for a left winger, making Rashford a suitable option to strengthen their squad. However, his high salary could pose the biggest obstacle to finalizing the deal.

The report also indicated that the Italian club will request Manchester United to cover part of the English striker's salary if an agreement is reached for his loan transfer to Roma.

Despite manager Michael Carrick previously expressing his readiness to rely on Rashford if he stays with the team, Manchester United's management still prefers to sell the player permanently, while continuing to work on finding the right formula to complete the deal during the summer transfer window.
