Bournemouth Secures Antonio Silva Deal from Benfica
Bournemouth has reached an agreement with Benfica for the signing of defender Antonio Silva, with an official announcement expected soon after weeks of negotiations between the two parties. Portuguese sources have confirmed that the player is preparing to leave Benfica and move to the Premier League.
According to details revealed by A Bola, the value of the deal is around €25 million, with the possibility of rising to nearly €30 million through performance-related add-ons and incentives.
There have indeed been offers and proposals that reached a figure of €25 million fixed plus €5 million in variables.
Fabrizio Romano previously confirmed that negotiations between the two clubs have reached a very advanced stage, with the player and his agent Jorge Mendes agreeing on personal terms with Bournemouth. The deal is now just a matter of time after Benfica received the green light for the player's departure following his European commitments.
Antonio Silva, 22, is expected to join Bournemouth to bolster the team's defense for the new season, having spent most of his career at Benfica and emerging as one of the top young defenders in Portugal.
Recent reports indicate that the player has left Portugal heading to England to complete his transfer, making an official announcement about the deal very imminent.
