Simon Souma on the verge of loan move to Venezia
Venezia is close to finalizing the signing of Swiss midfielder Simon Sohm from Fiorentina as part of the club's efforts to strengthen its midfield during the current transfer window. Reports from Sky Sport Italia indicate that negotiations have entered their final stages, with only minor details remaining to complete the agreement.
According to circulating details, the deal will be a loan with a purchase option, with the buyout clause set at around €10 million. This figure could allow Venezia to secure the player's services permanently at the end of the loan period.
Somm joined Fiorentina from Parma in the summer of 2025 for around €15 million, signing a five-year contract with the purple club. However, the player has become one of the names linked with a departure this summer, having fallen out of favor with the team recently and not being called up for Fiorentina's pre-season tour in England.
Reports indicate that Venezia views Souma as an important addition to the midfield due to his physical strength and ability to provide the team with more balance. Both parties are currently working to finalize the details ahead of the official announcement of the deal.
