Napoli Faces Chelsea's Demands in Badiashile Negotiations
Napoli has entered negotiations with Chelsea to acquire French defender Benoit Badiashile during the current summer transfer window. However, reaching an agreement between the two parties remains distant due to differing terms of the deal.
Multiple sources, including Foot Mercato, have confirmed that negotiations are indeed ongoing, but the gap between the two clubs' demands is obstructing progress in reaching an agreement.
Chelsea is demanding €30 million for the 25-year-old defender, despite him having only featured in 16 matches last season, and being out of coach Xabi Alonso's plans.
Meanwhile, Napoli is looking to acquire Badiashile on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season, rather than an obligation to purchase, while Chelsea is currently unwilling to agree to this arrangement.
According to a report from "Football Italia," negotiations will continue in the coming period, with Real Sociedad also interested in the player, who moved to Chelsea from Monaco in January 2023 for €38 million.
Badiashile's time at Chelsea has been marred by a series of muscular injuries, which may raise some concerns within Napoli, especially after the team suffered from similar injuries last season.
