Algerian international Mohamed Amine Amoura has returned to the interest of Portuguese club Benfica, which is looking to strengthen its attacking line during the current summer transfer window, benefiting from the imminent departure of Wolfsburg's striker.

According to "OneFootball," citing the Portuguese platform "Glorioso 1904," Benfica's management has revisited the option of signing the 26-year-old player, given the changes in his situation at Wolfsburg following the team's relegation to the second division, alongside the player's desire to continue his career at a club competing for titles and participating in European competitions.

The source indicated that Benfica is not moving alone in the race to sign the Algerian striker, as they face strong competition from German side Stuttgart and English club Everton. However, the Portuguese club has been monitoring the player since last summer, having been convinced of his technical abilities, particularly his great speed and impactful movements inside the penalty area.

Benfica had attempted to sign Amoura during the last transfer window with a bid of €28 million, but Wolfsburg's management refused to part with him at that time, insisting on a fee close to €40 million due to his importance to the team. However, the club's relegation to the second division has changed the dynamics, and it may push the management to lower their financial demands to facilitate a sale and achieve the best possible benefit.

Despite a dip in form towards the end of last season due to some physical issues and fatigue, Amoura concluded his campaign with impressive statistics. He played 32 matches in the Bundesliga, scoring 7 goals and providing 3 assists, continuing to showcase his attacking abilities that have caught the attention of several European clubs.

Benfica is aware that finalizing the deal will not be straightforward, given the ongoing interest from Stuttgart and Everton, with the possibility of other clubs entering negotiations in the coming weeks, especially if Wolfsburg decides to ease its financial demands.

Mohamed El Amine Amoura's chances of a transfer during the current summer window appear greater than ever, as the Algerian forward aims to continue playing at the highest European level to stay fit for upcoming commitments with the Algerian national team. Meanwhile, Benfica is closely monitoring developments in the situation, hoping to secure the services of one of the standout stars of the "Greens."
