Benfica full-back returns to Barcelona's radar
Daniel Banjaki, the young right-back of SL Benfica, has returned to FC Barcelona's radar, after the Catalan club previously monitored the player before dismissing the idea of signing him in the near future, according to the Spanish newspaper "Sport".
SL Benfica have renewed the contract of the 18-year-old player until 2031, with a release clause of €80 million. With his level improving, FC Barcelona have returned to monitor his situation, alongside Manchester United and Newcastle, who are considering the possibility of signing him in the summer of 2027.
The newspaper indicated that SL Benfica may start negotiations for João Cancelo at a fee between €35 million and €40 million, with the possibility of the amount rising to €50 million.
Despite renewed interest, FC Barcelona are not rushing to sign Pangaki, given they have Erik, Jules Koundé, as well as João Cancelo and Xavi Espart, who can play at right-back.
FC Barcelona has not made any contact with SL Benfica yet, but they continue to monitor the player's development as part of the sporting management policy led by Deco, which focuses on signings that can provide a clear addition to the team while considering the club's economic situation.
