Haider Abdul Karim is preparing for the start of a new season with Al Nassr, amidst a positive atmosphere and clear support from the team's new Australian head coach, Ange Postecoglou, during the preparation period.

Haider, 21, has joined Al-Nassr's squad in Portugal alongside teammate Abdullah Al-Hamdan, as the team embarks on an external camp in preparation for the 2026-2027 season. The Iraqi player's arrival was delayed due to visa processing for entry into Portugal.

Sources close to the player have revealed the situation he is currently experiencing, stating: "Haider is in a state of stability and comfort within Al Nassr. Despite the departure of coach Jorge Jesus, who was instrumental in bringing him to the team, the player has shown great determination for the upcoming season, and he is expected to receive more playing minutes after adapting to the atmosphere of Saudi football."

A source added: "Haider informed his teammates in Iraq that he is focusing solely on success with Al Nassr and is not paying attention to the circulating news about him. His late arrival to the Portugal camp sparked social media discussions in Iraq, leading to speculation about his future, but he is currently uninterested in all of that."

Sources have reported: "The player has a strong desire to wear the jersey of the national team, but he is not rushing the matter. He understands that his call-up is linked to his performance with Al Nassr, and for this reason, he is concentrating all his efforts on delivering his best for the team."

Coach Graham Arnold is considering Haidar for the Gulf Cup 27 scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia. Given that the tournament will be held there and the player's familiarity with the Saudi stadiums, this could give him an advantage. Haidar is eager to send early signals to the coaching staff to prove his worth for a spot in the national team.

Haider Abdul Karim is tied to Al Nassr with a contract that extends until the summer of 2028.
