Al Ahli Tripoli Secures Signing of Mohamed Amin Tougai

Al Ahli Tripoli is set to officially announce the signing of Algerian international defender Mohamed Amin Tougai, coming from Tunisian club Esperance Sportive, in one of the standout deals of the summer transfer window, after both parties reached a final agreement.

Al Ahli Tripoli, recently crowned champions of the Libyan Cup, has concluded negotiations with the management of Esperance and the 26-year-old player, who will sign a contract extending for three seasons, until June 2029, in a deal worth over two million dollars.

In moving to the Libyan league, Tugay closes a chapter that lasted nearly seven years with Esperance, having joined the team in January 2020 from Nasr Hussein Dey, during which he established himself as one of the team's standout defenders.

Although the player's contract with Esperance extended until June 2027, the Algerian defender preferred to embark on a new experience with Al Ahli Tripoli, and he will officially join the team in the coming days once the final financial arrangements between the two clubs are completed.

Togai boasts an impressive record on both local and continental levels, having contributed to Esperance's five Tunisian league titles, along with winning the Tunisian Cup and the CAF Champions League. He was also part of the Algerian national team at the 2026 World Cup, where the "Desert Warriors" reached the Round of 32 before being eliminated by Switzerland.

In a related context, the player's file has seen an important development recently, as his suspension has been reduced from 12 months to just four months at the local level, following the events surrounding the Tunis derby against Club Africain. This paves the way for his transfer to be completed and accelerates his appearance with Al Ahli Tripoli in the upcoming competitions.
