Court of Arbitration for Sport sets new hearing date in Blaili case
The Court of Arbitration for Sport has scheduled a new session for November 10 to consider the appeal filed by Algerian international Youcef Belaïli against the sanction imposed on him by FIFA, following the dispute he had with the French club Ajaccio.
The session is set to take place in Lausanne, Switzerland, as the player from Espérance Sportive de Tunis seeks to appeal the imposed sanction and request a review.
The details of the case date back to Youcef Belaïli's time playing for Ajaccio during the 2022-2023 season, when a financial and legal dispute arose between the two parties following the end of their contractual relationship. The dispute is linked to financial documents and an amount of 380,000 euros, before the file reached the corridors of FIFA.
In March 2026, FIFA issued a one-year suspension for Blaili due to the case, prompting the player to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The file has seen rapid developments in recent months, with the 'Cup' entering the dispute amid ongoing legal proceedings between various parties involved in the case.
In August, Blaili benefited from a temporary lifting of his ban, allowing him to return to competition with Espérance Sportive de Tunis. However, this measure did not represent a final lifting of the ban, leaving the case open before the relevant sports authorities.
The session set for November 10 does not necessarily mean that the final decision will be issued on that day, as this is linked to the stages of studying the file and the procedures adopted before the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
