Sports Ministry: Ismaily's Merger Status Still Unclear
Mohamed El-Shazly, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Youth and Sports, announced that the decision to merge Ismaily Club with another club is still under review and has not been finalized yet, emphasizing that meetings and discussions continue to explore this matter.
In statements to Karim Ramzy on Mega FM radio, Shazly said: "We have some financial crises at popular clubs, and there are major challenges. Minister Jawhar Nabil has a keen interest in popular clubs."
He added: "The establishment of a sports services company between a popular and an investment club is essential. For example, the Eastern license has become frozen, and Enppi Club is obligated to develop the Eastern Club. Enppi must pay all debts and overdue dues to the Eastern Club through the sports services company."
He continued: "The memorandum of understanding stipulates the preservation of all players' rights. Each club has a different nature, and Ismaily's situation is still under review. We are discussing various avenues for them, including introducing sponsorship companies and a future plan to help them rise back to the Premier League, but the situation for Ismaily is still unclear."
He continued: "All matches of Eastern Club against ENPPI will take place in the Eastern Province, as well as those involving Petrojet and Suez. Meetings are ongoing, and Al Mansoura Club is strongly in the picture for a merger with another club."
