Mohamed Salah Bids Farewell to Ahmed Hegazi After Retirement

Egyptian star Mohamed Salah took the time to bid farewell to his compatriot Ahmed Hegazi, the former Al Ahly and Al Ittihad defender, after Hegazi announced his retirement from football.

Salah shared a video on his X account on Sunday featuring moments with Hegazi, commenting: "We've had a long journey together since our childhood. We enjoyed and had fun at every stage of it, good luck with what’s to come."

Mohamed Salah and defender Ahmed Hegazi have represented Egypt together in international competitions. The two stars also faced off in English stadiums when Salah was donning the Liverpool colors and Hegazi was wearing the West Bromwich Albion shirt.

Ahmed Hegazy confirmed via his official account on X that his decision to retire pertains to his career on the pitch, while his passion for football will remain present in the upcoming phase.

Ahmed Hegazy has participated in securing several titles throughout his football career, including the Egyptian Premier League, the Egypt Cup, the Saudi Pro League, and the Saudi Super Cup.
