Juventus Close to Securing Lukumi Deal
Juventus management is preparing to capitalize on the anticipated revenues from the sale of Bosnian defender Tarik Muharemovic to Leeds United, in order to make moves in the transfer market and bolster their defense by signing Colombian John Lucumi, a defender from Bologna.
According to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, Alvaro Morata's transfer to Leeds for a fee close to €40 million will grant Juventus a 50% share of the deal's value, as per the clause included during the player's previous transfer. This means the club will receive around €20 million to reinvest in the transfer market.
The World Cup was a turning point in Mahremovic's career, attracting the attention of Premier League clubs. Leeds is looking to wrap up the deal quickly to avoid competition from Sunderland and Bournemouth.
The report added that Giovanni Carnevali, the CEO of Sassuolo, wanted to see Morahovic in a Juventus shirt after closely following his development. However, coach Luciano Spalletti prefers a defender who is more ready and experienced to lead the backline in his new defensive plan.
John Lucumi emerges as one of the top options for Juventus, as the club works to find the right formula to complete the deal, with the possibility of including players in the negotiations to facilitate reaching an agreement with Bologna.
