Paris Saint-Germain has entered negotiations to sign French international Lucas Digne, the Aston Villa left-back, as part of their plans to strengthen the left-back position during the summer transfer window.

According to "Foot Mercato," the Parisian club has begun discussions with various parties and is preparing to activate the player's release clause, set at €12 million, to finalize the deal.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa is working to find a replacement for Digne, having identified Ecuadorian Pervis Estupiñán, the Milan left-back, as a potential option to compensate for his possible departure.

PSG's interest in the 33-year-old player comes after a successful season with Aston Villa under Unai Emery, where the team finished fourth in the Premier League and won the Europa League.

The same source noted that signing Digne aligns with coach Luis Enrique's vision, who aims to have top players in every position, benefiting from the player's international experience.

The report confirmed that Digne has spoken with PSG officials but is currently focused on concluding his participation with the French national team in the 2026 World Cup before deciding on his future.
