Zakho Signs Mustafa Saadoun, Duhok Snatches Manaf Younis

Zakho and Duhok have made significant moves in the local transfer market, announcing two major signings with international duo Mustafa Saadoun and Manaf Younis joining from Al-Shorta, reflecting the ambitions of Kurdistan clubs ahead of the Iraq Stars League.

Zakho officially announced the signing of right-back Mustafa Saadoun from Al-Shorta after parting ways with "The Violin" to become a free agent.

The 25-year-old Saadoun has extensive experience in the Iraqi league. He began his career with Al-Kahrabaa before moving to Al-Shorta while being a key player for Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya in recent seasons.

A source from Zakho's management confirmed that the signing of Saadoun came on the recommendation of the coaching staff, who want to strengthen the backline with experienced players, especially as the team prepares for local competitions.

In the second deal, Duhok announced the official signing of defender Manaf Younis from Al-Shorta after the management decided not to renew his contract, allowing him to enter the market as a free agent.

The 29-year-old Manaf Younis has been a key figure in Al-Shorta's defense in recent years. During his time with the Baghdad team, he achieved a domestic treble: the league title, the Super Cup, and the cup championship.

Additionally, Manaf has a respectable international record with the Iraqi national team, representing the "Lions of Mesopotamia" in World Cup qualifiers, the Gulf Cup, and other tournaments. He is known for his strength in aerial duels, good positioning, and leadership in defense.
