Juventus Sets Price for Nicolás González, Complicating Atlético Madrid's Plans
Juventus has set a price of €28 million for the sale of Argentine Nicolás González during the summer transfer window, complicating Atlético Madrid's chances of securing him permanently.
According to "Football Italia," citing "Tuttosport," González made a positive impression during his loan at Atlético Madrid, scoring five goals in 37 matches, but Juventus management is not opposed to his return to the team.
The report added that coach Luciano Spalletti is open to keeping the player in Turin, which is why the club is holding firm on the €28 million asking price, while Atlético Madrid has not activated the mandatory purchase clause worth €32 million.
The same source noted that negotiations between the two clubs have stalled, making González's stay at Juventus for the upcoming season the most likely scenario at this point.
The player is under contract with Juventus until June 2029 and is currently preparing to play for the Argentina national team against Switzerland in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup, with Spalletti confident in his ability to regain his place in the team for the new season.
