Jonathan David Determined to Stay at Juventus Despite Spalletti's Concerns

Canadian striker Jonathan David hopes to continue his journey with Juventus next season, despite the complicated chances of staying due to head coach Luciano Spalletti's belief in the need to strengthen the attack with different signings.

According to "Football Italia," David, who has just finished his participation with the Canadian national team in the 2026 World Cup, will join the preseason preparations with Juventus in mid-July, determined to prove his abilities and not end his experience with the club after just one season.

The Canadian forward joined Juventus on a free transfer before the start of the 2025/2026 season, but managed to score only six goals in 35 Serie A matches, marking the first time in his career that he failed to reach ten goals in a league season, raising questions about his suitability for the team's playing style.

Furthermore, the site reported that Spalletti prefers to sign a striker with greater physical attributes, as Juventus works to bring in a new main striker, with Randal Kolo Muani of Paris Saint-Germain being one of the top candidates.

"Football Italia" also noted, citing "La Gazzetta dello Sport," that David's salary, which is around 6 million euros net annually, poses an additional challenge, and the club has yet to receive any official offers for the player, which may give him a new opportunity to convince Spalletti and secure his place at Juventus for the upcoming season.
