Official: Al Rayyan Appoints Luca Catani as Sporting Director

Qatari club Al Rayyan has appointed Italian Luca Catani as their new sporting director, a move aimed at enhancing their sports project and leveraging his extensive experience in talent scouting and football management.

Catani, 44, has a rich administrative career, starting at Italian club Palermo as a talent scout before rising through the ranks to become the club's sporting director.

He also served as sporting director at Italian club Novara and worked as a scout for Chelsea FC before moving to Paris Saint-Germain, where he headed the scouting department and later became the sporting director of the club's academy.

Catani continued his career as sporting director at Spartak Moscow in Russia before taking on a new challenge in Qatari football with Al Gharafa, and now he returns through the doors of Al Rayyan.

The new sporting director is known for his vast experience in talent discovery, contract management, and developing youth sectors, alongside building long-term sports projects, making his appointment a significant step in Al Rayyan's strategy to compete for titles in the coming years.
