Zamalek License Crisis Deepens, Impact on Ahly's Champions League Prospects
Amir Hisham revealed new developments regarding Zamalek's struggle to obtain its professional club license. During his show on Modern Sports, he stated, "What happened with Ahly regarding the licensing committee will not benefit Zamalek at all in its quest for the professional club license." He added, "The licensing committee's inquiries with Ahly were conducted transparently and announced officially, which does not favor the White Castle, as there are clauses related to insurance, utilities, taxes, and more." Hisham noted that Zamalek's insurance debts have reached 400 million EGP, in addition to club president Hussein Labib's announcement of debts totaling 3 billion EGP, which could certainly hinder Zamalek's license acquisition. He questioned, "If the licensing committee finds these debts, will they grant the White Club the license? I believe it will be difficult." Furthermore, he discussed the possibility of Ahly participating in the CAF Champions League, stating, "Some linked this to the African Football Confederation, but there are real chances for the Red Team to participate in this season's tournament." He concluded, "All scenarios are possible, and Ahly's chances in the Champions League may be related to CAF's decision or Zamalek's license situation; clarity will emerge in the coming period."
