Zamalek Successfully Reduces African Super Cup Fine
Zamalek has officially announced a reduction in the financial penalty imposed on them following the African Super Cup 2024 match controversy. The club stated in an official release: "The Court of Arbitration for Sport has reduced the financial penalty against Zamalek in the African Super Cup match issue from $200,000 to $50,000, after accepting the appeal submitted by the White Castle." Furthermore, the Court of Arbitration for Sport had previously issued another ruling in favor of Zamalek, reducing the financial penalty related to the 2024 African Confederation Cup final from $200,000 to $100,000. Zamalek now has the right to reclaim part of the amounts previously deducted from its dues with the Confederation of African Football (CAF), raising the total amount owed to the club to $250,000. The Zamalek administration is expected to contact CAF in the coming hours to demand the return of the $250,000 owed to the club, following the two rulings in its favor from the Court of Arbitration for Sport, especially since this amount was previously deducted from Zamalek's dues with CAF.
