Moataz Gamal Comments on Zamalek's Draw Against Ittihad
Ma'thmed Jamal, the head coach of Zamalek, spoke about his team's draw against Ittihad Alexandria in the Premier League, thanking the players for their efforts during the match.
The match between Zamalek and Al Ittihad ended in a goalless draw this evening, Friday, in the first round of the Egyptian Premier League.
In the press conference following the match, Mo'tamed Gamal stated: "I have never complained before, and we are working against logic. Matches like these are very difficult equations because we are required to win and prepare the players. The journey is still long, and we work all day to prepare all the team players. We were looking to finish the match in the first half."
He continued: "There are many positives that we will build on in the upcoming period, and there are negatives that we will work to avoid in the future. The changes made by the coaching staff were to protect the players from injuries."
Gamal stated: "The group is with the best players in Egypt, and the players quickly learned the playing style. It's natural to have some negatives, and I excuse the players. I implemented a rotation policy during the match to avoid injuries."
The coach continued: "Zamalek was the last team to start preparations for the league, and we have only been working for 20 days. Zamalek has not strengthened its squad due to the registration ban, and I do not seek excuses. The players know what is required of them until the next break so we can reach the desired level, which is a very difficult equation."
Gamal concluded by saying: "Abdullah El-Said is a great player, and he will be an addition to the team when he is ready to participate in the match, and I considered bringing in Mohamed Farag due to Omar Gaber's fatigue in the final minutes."
