Hamza El Gamal Praises Ittihad Players for Their Performance
Hamza El Gamal, the head coach of Ittihad Alexandria, expressed his gratitude to his players for their performance during the match against Zamalek, which took place yesterday, Friday, in the opening round of the Premier League, ending in a 0-0 draw.
Al-Jamal stated in comments after the match: "I thank all the players and the coaching staff, everyone put in a great effort with me, as we are forming a new team, especially since most of the team members have left. I also extend my thanks to the board of directors, led by Mohamed Salama, and I hope that God grants us success in the upcoming period."
He added: "We were facing a great team like Zamalek, the league champions, and they also had a large fan presence, so I salute the Union players for what they showed during the match."
The Union coach spoke about Ismaily, saying: "I am very sad about Ismaily's relegation, as it is a big club with a rich history. I hope all teams can rise again, as it benefits Egyptian football."
The coach explained that the technical staff relied heavily on the physical aspect against Zamalek, stating: "We played a lot on the physical element, and we wanted to finish the match in the first half, but in the end, we came away with a draw."
He concluded: "I am not Zamalek's nemesis as it is often said. Zamalek is a big name with a great history, and I approach each match according to its circumstances and objectives."
