Chelsea Reaches Agreement with Pep Chavarria
Chelsea has reached a preliminary agreement with Spanish left-back Pep Chavarria of Rayo Vallecano, marking a significant step forward in the London club's pursuit of the player during the summer transfer window.
According to Spanish newspaper "Marca", Chavarria has emerged as one of Chelsea's top targets due to his consistent performances in recent seasons, along with his ability to contribute defensively and offensively from the left-back position.
Negotiations between Chelsea and Rayo Vallecano are ongoing to finalize the financial terms of the deal, with no official resolution yet.
The Spanish outlet reported that Chelsea initially offered around €12 million, including variables and bonuses, but Rayo Vallecano rejected the bid, deeming it insufficient to meet their financial demands.
In contrast, the Spanish club is holding out for over €20 million to part with the player, leaving a financial gap between the two parties for now.
Chelsea hopes to bridge this gap and reach a final agreement soon, especially as they aim to strengthen the left-back position in their plans for the new season.
