De Vrij Nears Departure from Inter Milan

The 'Calcio Mercato' website reported that Dutch defender Stefan de Vrij is close to leaving Inter Milan in a free transfer deal, after his current contract expires on June 30.

This development comes at a time when the Italian club had offered the player a chance to extend his contract and stay at San Siro, but recent indications suggest that the 34-year-old player is leaning towards not signing a new contract.

According to the same source, De Vrij is currently considering his next options, with an official offer from Panathinaikos, as the player has shown openness to the idea of moving to the Greek capital, Athens.

The reports also indicated that the Greek club has made a two-year offer with a salary of 3 million euros annually, in an attempt to finalize the deal quickly.
