Tottenham Hotspur has reached an agreement with Brighton to sign Dutch defender Jan Paul van Hecke for £52 million, according to journalist David Ornstein.
According to the report, the deal does not include add-ons or bonuses, and personal terms are not expected to be an obstacle to its completion.
Van Hecke's contract with Brighton runs until June 2027, and he joined the club in 2020 from NAC Breda, establishing his place in the first team starting from the 2022/2023 season.
The defender has played 131 matches for Brighton, including 106 in the Premier League, and was a mainstay in most matches of the 2025/2026 season. He is also part of the Netherlands national team squad for the World Cup.
