Atletico Madrid Enters Race to Sign Borussia Dortmund Striker

German press reports indicated that Atletico Madrid has joined the clubs interested in signing the Guinean striker Serhou Guirassy, a Borussia Dortmund player, during the upcoming transfer period.

Atletico Madrid's interest comes as part of the club's plan to strengthen its attacking line, especially after Antoine Griezmann's departure to the American league, and the potential departure of Alexander Sorloth amid links to a move to Juventus, despite ongoing negotiations between the parties without a final agreement so far.

Serhou Guirassy, aged 30, has a contract with Borussia Dortmund until 2028, having joined the team in the summer of 2024 following his impressive performance with Stuttgart, becoming one of the prominent players of the German team.

Guirassy had a strong career with Dortmund, scoring 60 goals and providing 15 assists in 96 matches over two seasons, making him the subject of interest for several European clubs.

Reports indicate that the release clause in his contract is about 50 million euros, while his market value is estimated at approximately 32 million euros according to the 'Transfermarkt' website, with interest also from Aston Villa and Tottenham in England, in addition to Turkish club Fenerbahce.
