Feyenoord Terminates Van Persie's Contract Despite Finishing Second

Feyenoord, the Dutch club, announced the dismissal of their coach Robin van Persie after just one season, despite his success in leading the team to second place in the Eredivisie and securing qualification for the Champions League. Feyenoord's management added that the final decision came after an internal analysis concluded that a change was necessary before the start of the new season to rebuild the team's sports project. The club noted that the decline in points compared to the leader, Eindhoven, which finished the season 19 points ahead, was one of the factors influencing the decision.

On the other hand, Van Persie faced criticism during the season due to some disputes with players, inconsistency in the lineup, and his frequent reliance on rotation, with some considering his managerial style to be unstable.
