Thuram: We know Inter's problems and we must correct them, playing in every match is a dream

Marcus Thuram, Inter's forward, spoke about the anticipated match against Feyenoord in the UEFA Champions League, addressing the team's condition after the Milan Derby and the criticisms regarding the performance of some players. He emphasized the need to acknowledge mistakes and work on correcting them in the upcoming phase.

Regarding the statements made by Nicolò Barella and Alessandro Bastoni about problems within the team, Thuram said: "I agree with them, they are leaders and know the team well, and I can only agree with what they said." He also pointed out that the spirit shown by Inter in the match against Shakhtar must be present at all times, explaining that the team is required to show the same mentality in all competitions.

The French striker spoke about his continuous participation in matches and the lack of sufficient rest, saying: "Playing in every match is every player's dream, and sometimes I can't do that, but everyone wants to participate continuously, and that makes me happy." He also confirmed his ability to play as a lone striker, noting that he has previously occupied this role at times.

Thuram rejected criticisms suggesting that some players lack leadership in the absence of Lautaro Martínez, stating: "Who says that? I don't think that's the case, as every player expresses their personality in their own way. You can see what Lauti brings, but others are doing well too, and we know that even if it's not obvious to everyone."

Speaking about his role in pressing during the Milan Derby, Thuram explained that the team needs to choose the right timing to press, adding: "At certain moments we can press high, and at other moments we have to wait. As a forward, I need to be the first to pick the right moments, so I don't put the team in a difficult position."

Thuram concluded his remarks by emphasizing the need to address issues related to the start of matches and the tactical approach, stating: "You must recognize the problem and acknowledge its existence, then work to correct it, because acting as if nothing has happened will not help us. I believe we have all discovered these matters, and we can now prepare for the matches and deal with them in the best possible way."
