Chelsea Goalkeeper Desires to Leave the Team
Media reports have revealed that Chelsea goalkeeper Philip Jorgensen has expressed his desire to leave the club during the current summer transfer window, due to not getting enough playing time with the first team.
The British network "BBC" reported that Jorgensen requested to leave the London club due to his limited participation in matches, as the coaching staff relies on the main goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez.
The network added that the reserve goalkeeper held direct talks with Ben Roberts, the head of the goalkeeping department at Chelsea, and informed him of his desire to have an opportunity to participate regularly with the first team.
Chelsea is open to the idea of selling Jorgensen this summer, provided they receive a suitable offer, especially after the club blocked his departure during the last winter transfer window.
With Mike Benders returning from his loan spell at Strasbourg, Chelsea might have new options in the goalkeeper position in preparation for the next season.
The clubs Beşiktaş, Genoa, and Porto had previously shown interest in signing the Danish goalkeeper during the winter transfer market, with expectations of new offers emerging to acquire him in the summer.
Jorgensen participated in 12 matches with Chelsea last season, conceding 17 goals without managing to keep a clean sheet in any game.
