Dimarco Writes History with Legendary Numbers Placing Him Among the Greatest Defenders

Inter Milan's Italian star Federico Dimarco continues to deliver one of the greatest offensive seasons for a defender in the modern era, having reached 24 goal contributions this season in Serie A, with 17 assists and 7 goals.

With this exceptional figure, Dimarco has become the defender with the most goal contributions in a single season within the top five European leagues over the last 20 years, since the 2006/07 season, surpassing many historical names in the full-back and wing-back positions.

The only record left for the Italian star to surpass is that of Spanish player Alejandro Grimaldo with Bayer Leverkusen in the 2023/24 season, when he scored 10 goals and provided 13 assists, totaling 23 goal contributions in one of the most historic seasons for an attacking defender in Europe.

This season, Dimarco also succeeded in breaking the record for the most assists in a single season in the history of the Italian league, reaching 17 assists, surpassing historical figures in Serie A.
