Al-Ittihad Club received a major blow just hours before their anticipated match against Al-Qadsiah, as it was confirmed that Algerian star Houssem Aouar will miss the final match in the Saudi Roshn League.
The Union hosts its counterpart Al-Qadisiyah on Thursday evening as part of the final round of the competition, in a match of great importance for determining the top positions in the standings.
The club clarified, through an official statement published on the "X" platform, that Hossam Aouar suffered a sudden health issue in the past hours, which prevented him from participating in the match.
The statement indicated that the player suffered from acute tonsillitis, accompanied by a high fever, which necessitated his transfer to the hospital for necessary medical care.
The federation confirmed that Aouar later left the hospital and will continue his treatment program at home under continuous supervision from the team's medical staff.
Al-Ittihad holds the fifth position in the Saudi Roshan League standings with 55 points, while Al-Qadisiyah enters the match in fourth place with 74 points.
