Happy News for Ismaily Club
The media personality Ahmed Shobeir revealed that the new season of the Egyptian Premier League will be held with the participation of 20 teams, while continuing to work on finding investment solutions to save the clubs threatened with relegation, foremost among them being Ismaily Club.
In his radio program, Shobeir pointed to the ongoing study of merger and investment files, expecting an announcement soon about the entry of investors and companies to rescue popular clubs, especially Ismaily. He confirmed that things are progressing positively, although no final decision has been made yet.
He said that he inquired from some officials about the format of the league system for the next season, especially after the criticisms related to the large number of teams relegated within the relegation avoidance group.
Shobeir confirmed that the new system will see only 6 teams participating in the championship group, compared to 14 teams in the relegation avoidance group, with 4 clubs relegating at the end of the season. This is part of a gradual plan to reduce the number of league teams to 18 clubs in the coming seasons.
He explained that the Football Association plans to gradually return to the traditional league system with 18 clubs by first reducing the number of teams to 19 in a transitional phase.
