The Algerian club USM Alger clinched the CAF Confederation Cup title for the second time in its history after defeating Egypt's Zamalek in a penalty shootout with a score of 8-7, following a 1-1 draw on aggregate over the two legs.

USM Alger succeeded in winning the continental title under the leadership of their Senegalese coach Lamine Ndiaye, repeating the achievement of the 2023 edition and continuing their strong presence on the African stage.

Zamalek managed to secure the second leg with a 1-0 victory, thanks to an early goal by Palestinian player Oday Dabbagh in the fifth minute from a penalty kick. Meanwhile, the first leg ended with a 1-0 win for USM Alger, with Ahmed Khaldi scoring from the penalty spot as well.

The match witnessed great excitement after the referee disallowed a second goal for Zamalek scored by Mohamed Ismail due to offside, while the white team's goalkeeper, Al-Mahdi Suleiman, suffered an early injury during the game.

Despite Zamalek's attempts to maintain their lead and the coaching staff, led by Moatamed Gamal, making several offensive changes, most notably the inclusion of Seifeddine Jaziri, Nasser Mansi, and Ahmed Abdel Rahim "Eisho," USM Alger succeeded in holding on until the penalty shootout.

The Senegalese coach Lamine Ndiaye made several changes to invigorate the Algerian team's ranks during the second half, before the final decision favored USM Alger in the penalty shootout, crowning the team with the continental title amid the joy of its fans.
