Al-Shorta Club secured its match against Nawroz with a clean three-goal victory, in the encounter that brought the two teams together this evening at Nawroz Stadium in Sulaymaniyah, as part of the 32nd round of the Iraqi Stars League.

The "Green Lyre" delivered a complete performance, asserting its superiority from the early minutes, before securing the three points in the second half and continuing its pressure on the league leader, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya.

Al-Shorta controlled the flow of the game from the start, but faced a solid defense from Nawroz, who played comfortably on their home ground. As the first half neared its end, Mustafa Saadoun managed to break through the Sulaymaniyah defense, scoring the lead goal for Al-Shorta in the 45+5 minute of stoppage time, giving his team a moral advantage before the break.

With the start of the second half, Al-Shorta continued its pressure, and Ahmed Yahya managed to add the second goal in the 57th minute, giving the "Green Lyre" more comfort in managing the match.

Nawroz tried to come back and reduce the deficit, but Al-Shorta's defense remained firm, while the Baghdad team relied on counterattacks. Just a minute before the final whistle, Polo Sambo concluded Al-Shorta's trio by scoring the third goal in the 90+1 minute, confirming his team's complete superiority.

With this victory, Al-Shorta raised its tally to 70 points, strengthening its position in second place on the standings table, keeping its hopes alive in the league title race until the final rounds.

As for Nawroz, their tally froze at 47 points in the ninth position, after suffering a harsh defeat on their home ground against one of the top title contenders.
