The Catalan administration has started studying multiple options, as the player's loan period nears its end, amidst doubts about the possibility of converting it into a permanent transfer in the next season.

According to press reports, Barcelona prefers to acquire Cancelo permanently, but under suitable financial conditions that align with the club's current economic situation.

The club's management seeks to reach a formula that allows for the termination of the player's contract with Al Hilal, making him a free agent, which would facilitate signing him without significant financial burdens.

Amidst this uncertainty, Barcelona is working on preparing more than one alternative in the same position, to secure the team technically before the new season begins.

The list includes three full-backs: Andre Raito, Dumfries, and Caio Henrique. The Catalan club will work on signing one of them if negotiations officially fail with Al Hilal.
