Manchester United Takes Initial Steps to Sign Alvarez

Press reports revealed that Manchester United has entered the race to sign Argentine striker Julian Alvarez, after making direct contact with the player's agent in an attempt to persuade him to move to Old Trafford during the current summer transfer window.

The reports added that Álvarez has become one of Manchester United's main offensive targets, although the player still prioritizes fulfilling his dream of joining Barcelona, which is his preferred destination should he leave Atlético Madrid.

The Argentine forward had previously expressed his desire to leave Atletico Madrid this summer, but the Spanish club's management insists on keeping him and will only agree to sell him if the release clause in his contract, amounting to 500 million euros, is paid.

Álvarez is attracting interest from several major European clubs, most notably Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal, but reports confirm that the player prefers to move to Barcelona if given the opportunity during the summer transfer window.

It is noted that Real Madrid offered 150 million euros to sign Alvarez, but the offer was rejected, while Barcelona offered 100 million euros, and that offer was also rejected.
