Kompany: What Happened Against Paris Was Logical, and We Won't Lose What Makes Us Strong

Vincent Kompany, the head coach of Bayern Munich, spoke about his team's 5-4 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final, confirming that what happened in the match was expected given the strength of the opponent.

Kompany said in his statements: 'I don't always see things this simply.'

He added: 'For me, what happened in Paris was logical. I certainly wished to keep a clean sheet, as this is always our goal, and we will strive to achieve it in our next match against them. We succeeded in doing so wonderfully against Leverkusen in the German Cup.'

The Bayern Munich coach continued his talk about the playing style, saying: 'If we analyze what happened in the match, we will find that it was logical and expected. All we want is to win in the end and use all available means to achieve that, and this is natural.'

Kompany explained the importance of the mental aspect in such big confrontations, saying: 'We must believe in the possibility of winning this way. We do not want to lose, and this is what makes us strong.'

He continued: 'Paris Saint-Germain would not change its style that led it to win the Champions League, and there is no reason for that after achieving this number of victories, so who will back down among us? No one accepts that, and we must not lose what makes us strong.'
