Bayern Munich Closes the Door on Rashford.. His Future with Barcelona Remains Uncertain
Friday 01-05-2026
The future of English star Marcus Rashford continues to stir controversy amidst the uncertainty surrounding his fate, due to Barcelona's indecision on activating the purchase clause, complicating the situation for the player as the season nears its end.

With just about a month remaining until the end of the season, and despite Barcelona's exit from the UEFA Champions League and their nearing of securing the La Liga title, the sports management continues to work on the transfer file. However, the issue of Rashford remains unresolved without a final decision.

According to "Sport" newspaper, Manchester United's stance has begun to shift towards dissatisfaction due to the lack of a clear response from Barcelona regarding the activation of the purchase option, while the Catalan club is attempting to renegotiate the agreed terms.

English reports indicate that the United management is annoyed by Barcelona's attempts to reduce the purchase clause set at 30 million euros or to seek an extension of the player's loan for an additional season, which complicates the deal further.

On the other hand, Barcelona considers completing the deal under the current terms to be a difficult burden, despite Rashford's desire to remain with the team, which puts his future in a state of uncertainty.

In a new development, one of the potential destinations for Rashford has receded, as Bayern Munich has closed the door on the idea of signing him, according to journalist Christian Falk.

Falk clarified that Rashford is not on Bayern's list of interests, even if the deal with Anthony Gordon falls through, noting that the Bavarian club has other specific options that do not include the English striker.

Bayern Munich prioritizes Newcastle's winger in their plans, despite the difficulty of the deal, as the English club's demands may reach around 80 million pounds, a figure the German club's officials consider high.

The report confirmed that Rashford, even if the Gordon deal falls through, will not be part of the team's plans under coach Vincent Kompany, given the presence of a clear main attacking trio, along with strong alternatives on the bench.
